Short Sunderland
Book Information
Description
The Short Sunderland was the largest aircraft used by RAF Coastal Command during WWII. Its size and range allowed it to roam over vast areas of oceans and its considerable armament led to it being nicknamed "The Flying Porcupine" by respectful German crews. The Sunderland remained in service throughout WWII, went on to play an important role in the Berlin Airlift, and served with several foreign air forces. This volume charts its design and development through to its retirement and civil use. Hdbd., 8 1/2 x 11, 192 pgs., b&w ill. (Source: Google Books API)
