Description

Relates the story of a wealthy Austrian Jewish Orthodox family of Hungarian background in the 20th century, focusing on Albert Sternfeld. In 1938, after the Anschluss, the Sternfeld family had to leave their apartment; the father was arrested and his property was Aryanized. The son, Albert, left Austria with the "Kindertransport" to England in December 1938, and in 1940 he joined his parents, who had meanwhile emigrated to Palestine. He returned to live in Austria in 1966, where he dedicated himself to convincing the Austrian government and people to accept responsibility for the Nazi period, and to obtaining justice concerning Aryanized Jewish property.
