He saw how eugenics, the practice of improving the quality of human genetics, almost left one neighborhood boy locked up in an institution and sterilized. Louis knew he fit the profile of the kids the eugenicists were trying to eradicate and fought to turn himself around to avoid the fate the other boy nearly faced.
