Escaping from The Beast, the crew of the Morning Star still face tribulations. On their first port call looking for help, rather than the assistance they expect, they find troubles deepening with discord from sources unknown whether human or AI.On top of that, nothing could be worse for them than to have the criminal cartel looking at them and their questionable past. But more than just looking, they end up with the head of the syndicate trapped on the ship on an outward voyage to places unknown. Their secrets threatened for exposure, now trapped between warring factions, with one of the crew in imminent danger they know not what to do nor how to escape.And thinking it could get no worse their navigation is compromised, sending them into unknown parts of space without civilization, their larder completely empty down to the last cup of rice. It is up to the crew to find food, find their way back and rid themselves of the criminal element in their midst, while still preserving their standing and reputation so they can work in the future.
