Description
Re-examines Stonehenge in the light of current knowledge of the monument and places it in the context of the surrounding landscape. Stonehenge includes the results of fieldwork and analysis carried out in the last decade and includes evidence for the physical, cultural and spiritual setting of the monument. The surviving structures, the stages of development, the ritual and funerary landscapes, evidence for increasing organization as well as evidence of the economy and agriculture of the inhabitants are examined. Recent fieldwork and analysis have revealed traces of the people living in the area that gives a much closer knowledge of the builders and uses of Stonehenge. (Description from external book data)
