Facing pages of Latin and English present the collection of 83 lyrics that was probably produced in southern Tyrol in the first third of the 13th century and received its current name in the 19th century after arriving at the British university library. They may have sweeping implications for the history of vernacular literature, and may represent sole survivors of once established genres.
